Moon Over Buffalo stage - January 2010
Lighting DesignMoon Over Buffalo is a farce about a troupe of aging actors in Buffalo, NY. As such, there are only a few light changes needed since most of the action happens in one place at one time. Becky helped me with the lights as she did with A Piece of My Heart.
The lighting of the green room where most of the action takes place has a warmer light than normal, creating a cozy feel. It doesn't change much. Sometimes the lights would dim slightly if there was only one character on stage. More dramatic lighting was used for scenes where the troupe performed excerpts from Cyrano De Bergerac and Private Lives. Cyrano's lighting was foggy, angular and dramatic, perhaps overly so in the spirit of farce. Private Lives had a much cooler nighttime feel and a tropical foliage pattern was projected on stage.
