Godspell stage - April 2009

Sound Design and Board Op

The Edina High School production of Godspell won 16 Spotlight awards, including one for sound design and mixing.

This show was performed with an ensemble cast of 22 in a different theater than the other shows that I've worked on. It was in Fick Auditorium, a thrust stage in the High School, and the cast was often in the audience and in front of speakers. The pit was on stage and each cast member had their own mic, so feedback was a concern but none was heard during performances. A lot of the work for Godspell was done during the show and not in the planning of the show, since the show didn't require a complicated mic plot.

Fick Auditorium uses a digital sound system over CobraNet and was mixed with a Yamaha M7CL-48.
